Mauro, Murky, Iaie and Fabio discovered they were brothers when still at school in 1996. Their first goal was to be able to play the Ramones’ first album just as the Ramones did.
Murky’s creative vein later convinced the band to try some original songs and that choice projected The Happy Gays into adulthood.
They recorded a 7-song demo in 1999 called “It’s supposed to be spreading to the sheep now”, which circulated around the Padova area and radios and one of the songs was also published in the collection “Kings of Punk” in 2000.
The activity of the following years, as a support band in many concerts big and small, gave birth to a conspicuous number of new songs which never saw the light of day of commercial release or even private recording, until the band decided to take a long sabbatical in 2003.
“Back to the End” is an act of justice to those lost but not forgotten songs and the four Gay brothers are in such good form that it’s like they never left.
